silverburn cottage location

Set in the Perthshire Highlands just half an hour from the A9 and 3 miles from Loch Tay, the cottage is ideally situated for walking, fishing, stalking, golf, white water rafting, touring or just relaxing. The area is rich in wildlife, and we regularly see from the house a wide variety of birds, red squirrels, pine martins, and roe and red deer.

A good range of galleries, places to eat and shops (including a delicatessen, newsagent, post office and supermarkets) is available in and around Aberfeldy (5 miles), and more limited facilities are slightly nearer at hand in Kenmore (3 miles). The arts-and-crafts village of Fortingall and Glen Lyon, one of Scotland’s most beautiful glens, are nearby.

Further afield, Perth is just an hour away, and Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Oban, Fort William and Inverness are all within two hours by car.

There is an hourly bus service between Aberfeldy and Perth. The nearest railway station is at Pitlochry (35 minutes by car), with direct services to and from Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and London.
